Title: Earthquake Strikes Northern New York

The USGS has confirmed to WPTZ.com that a small earthquake struck northern New York Tuesday morning.

The 2.8 magnitude quake struck at 7:55 a.m. About 5 kilometers below the earth, according to the USGS.

The epicenter was located 8 miles northwest of Malone, 8 miles northeast of Brushton, 12 miles west of Burke, and 58 miles southwest of Montreal.

The deeper the better for us.
