Last night at our Knights Of Columbus Mass, Father Julian mentioned that when he got up yesterday morning, he thanked God for it being his 10th Anniversary of being ordained to the priesthood.
Interestingly enough, each May 20th for the last 53 years, I do the same thing, only my thanks is in memory of my first day I started work for IBM. I was working as a clerk in a Paint & Wallpaper Store before I was hired at IBM, May 20, 1957, not really looking to much of a future. I happened to be very fortunate to be hired by IBM when they first came to Vermont and they provided a very good life for me and my family. I will have been retired 18 years come July 31, 2010, so my income still continues on with a pension that I never paid once cent into.
Even though there is a difference in the number of years, I too have a very special remembrance for May 20th.
