Title: So,Who is a Socialist? Not me you say......
Post by: rdmapes on June 05, 2010, 06:45:11 PM
All,
Check out this article for the who's who of Congress is a member of Democrat Socialists of America. I imagine that it will not surprise anyone here in VT. Not sure our Constitution works well with Socialism, but then again these folks have done a lot to disable it and bypass what it stands for. Anyway maybe some will be interested in seeing how prevalent Socialists are in our Republic.

Good Morning,
Theory and application are two different animals. The definition does not include the exemption of elected officials from a program such as Public Health Care or Laws written. The world is full of these types of governing parties that have run or are their country into the ground and have severely restricted personal freedoms of the individual. On paper life is great, everyone is provided for, even those who choose to not try to better themselves or contribute to society in any fashion.
I am not advocating one political party over another, but I can say that Socialism does not work. Any one of the current parties in D.C. is so corrupt and self-centered that the American citizen is nominally helped by any Law passed. When the free candy is handed out who has bought it? Your children? Or maybe your grandchildren?

If the importing of products stopped from China or anywhere in the world is America in a position to be self sufficient? Other words can production of products used to get through daily life be put on the shelf for us. Take a look around your home and community and see what and where these everyday products come from. Senator Sanders and a whole slew of other elected citizens have secured pensions and medical care for their retirements at the cost of the middle class or working class American. What you have received is higher taxes, the country is further in debt to foreign nations, and obligated to import products so the debt is not called in.

How much time is needed for a Congressman or Senator to make a difference in regards fiscal responsibility, fixing what exists? Entitlement programs that we have are broke and are not being fixed. Instead new ones are created and funded with debt.

Here is a new word Oligarch.
http://ask.reference.com/related/Oligarchy+Government?&qsrc=2892&l=dir&o=10601
Oligarchy is a form of government where most political power effectively rests with a small segment of society (typically the most powerful, whether by wealth, military strength, ruthlessness, or political influence). ... Oligarchy is a government by the rich for the rich.

Just got off the phone with  Welch's office and was told the he does not belong to this group. I didn't contact Sanders, as frankly, it wouldn't suprise me if he did belong.
