Post by: MikeF9 on June 10, 2010, 12:08:23 PM
On this date in history, two organizations began:

June 10, 1914- The first meeting of the Eastern Star # 17 was held with 17 charter members. Meetings were held at the Masonic Hall which was upstairs in the building where the Vermont Food Venture is now in the center of Fairfax Village.

June 10, 1934- The Fairfax Home Demonstration Club is formed. This was part of the UVM Extension Agency. A group of ladies met once every month to learn how to do things when the men were away at war. This organization is responsible for getting the caution light put up in the center of the village.
