The Wesford school bud­get was approved, rejected and on the third try Tuesday rejected again.

The tally was 359-353 against the $5.2 million, lev­el- funded spending pro­posal.

“We recounted it to ver­ify the numbers,” Town Clerk Nanette Rogers said.

The first school-budget proposal narrowly passed on Town Meeting Day, but a petition forced a re-vote on the $5,268,238 spending plan, which was defeated, 403-283.
