Title: Earthquake?
Post by: Judi on June 23, 2010, 12:46:02 PM
Did anyone else feel the earth shake? Sitting in my house and my chair shook and doors rattled for about half a minute. Am I imagining things or did anyone else feel something?

Well, Maryann felt the house shake here also, so I would say you are probably right - Maryann was sitting at the computer and called me in there to feel her computer table - Of course I didn't feel it, but after the softener incident - I believe her and now you back it up also.

The Burlington Free Press confirmed that it was most likely an "event"

http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/article/20100623/NEWS02/100623021/Vermont-rocked-by-earthquake (http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/article/20100623/NEWS02/100623021/Vermont-rocked-by-earthquake)

But then again, I don't trust much that they print.... ;)

Oh, and we felt it in Waterbury too.

Maryann was in the computer room and I was in the living room - I didn't feel a thing, but she said her chair and table were moving - Lots of gloating going on here at the Raymond House -

My room, desk & computer were shaking, 2 cats awakened from nap, bug-eyed & not happy.  Called a friend whom also does daycare & she didn't feel it,( but with the kids she's got there, no wonder!), but my sister emailed me from work in Williston & she felt it!....freaky....do we get aftershock?

I felt it down in Essex. I was sitting in my truck at a light, and all of a sudden my truck started rocking slightly from side to side. For a minute I thought my truck had started running rough, until I noticed the truck in front of me was doing the same.

5.5 , 5.0, that is nothing to sneeze at!
3 seconds, 4 seconds, is still too long.

Exhilarating yet worrisome.
