I am not sure how it is done down there in America but,
The ISP I use offered unlimited data transfer when I signed up for it 8 years ago.
Since then technology has changed and so has the internet.
Just recently they adopted a Fair Use Policy.
The have put caps on the data transfer depending on your plan.
My current plan allows me 60 gigabytes per month. I am going to max this out and go over it by the end of the billing cycle.
We have two Playstation 3s using the Netflix streaming in HD running, I play that Golf game which is in HD, and we watch most of the TV shows over the internet.
Until a co worker got nailed with a huge internet bill with the overages on his I never paid attention to my usage. I have know idea what his plan was at the time.
6 months ago if you told me that I would over run a 60 gig transfer I would scoffed it off.
I have been checking my usage daily with the ISP provided meter.
I just upped my account to 80 gig and that gives me 10mbps down and 1mbps up for 7 bucks more a month.
That beats a $5 dollar per gig over charge though!
Great, I may hit 80 gigs faster now!
So the upshut is, if you us the internet allot, check your transfer and plans.
ISPSs are not being unfair, they are for profit after all.
