Early congratulations to Phyllis on the 10th for her longevity and her birthday . She was a special person when I joined the BFA Faculty in the fall of 1962 ( Phyllis taught Home Economics then ) and she remains a special person today , a classy and intelligent lady who works hard to maintain both a positive outlook and an unbiased approach to all people and situations that she encounters. I was never privileged to sit down at a family meal with her husband and her children, but I would have loved to been a fly on the wall at dinner-time when she and the Senator allowed their children ( in fact encouraged and mandated , I hear , from her kids who discussed it in school ) to discuss and debate any and almost all subjects in the most vigorous manner. Because of her affiliation with the UVM faculty and numerous other groups, her fan base extends far beyond Fairfax and Franklin County and I feel grateful for not only knowing her, but also for counting she ( and her children ) as friends. Way to go, Phyllis !!!
