Title: Mother Of Rita Langlais Dies At Age 83

Swanton, Vermont -  June Eleanor Paradis, age 83 years, a resident of 32 New St. in Swanton Village died Friday afternoon, July 30, 2010, at the St. Albans Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center with loving family by her side.

Born in Frelighsburg, Quebec Canada on, June 16, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Beatrice (Domingue) Dew. She received her education in Canada and on, February 22, 1947 was married to Homer Romeo Paradis who survives her.

June will always be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a master at arts and crafts, earning many awards for them as well as  her creativity with food being always unique regardless of the event that she was preparing for. June was an avid bowler and served as team captain for several teams at the St. Albans Bowling Center. She was a longtime member of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a life member of the parish Altar Society. For several years June assisted her daughter in the daily operation of Sandy’ Quick Stop in St. Albans Town.

In addition to her husband Homer of 63 years, June leaves six children, Rita Langlais and her fiancé Raymond Lussier of Fairfax, Larry Paradis and his wife Marie of Georgia, Sandy Alyward and husband Lester of Fairfield, Michael Paradis and fiancée Jackie Jefferson of Swanton, Debbie Charbonneau and fiancé Steve Begnoche of St. Albans Bay and Glenn Paradis and wife Laurie of St. Albans; three brothers, Frank Dew, Richard Dew and wife Michelle and Donald Dew and one sister, Alice Chaput all of Quebec; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild as well as several nieces and nephews. June was very proud that her last great great granddaughter born was named June after her.

She was predeceased by brothers, Robert and Jim; a sister, Wilda and an infant sister, Theresa.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada St. Swanton. Fr. Thomas D. Nadeau will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Committal and Interment will take place privately at the Paradis family lot in St. Louis Roman Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave. Swanton on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Gifts in June’s memory may be made to the, Franklin County Humane Society, 30 Sunset Meadows, St. Albans 05478 or to the, American Diabetes Ass., 77 Hegeman Ave., Colchester 05446.
