In St. Albans, a train and tractor trailer collided, injuring the truck's driver. St. Albans police said it happened at the Elm Street Railroad Crossing at around 10 p.m. Thursday.
The force from the collision pushed the tractor-trailer 30 feet west of the railroad crossing before flipping on its side, causing both fuel tanks to rupture. Fire crews contained the spill by draining the two tanks.
Today the Environmental Protection Agency plans to inspect the scene.
Police said the driver of the tractor-trailer is in stable condition.
I expect the Messenger will have quite a bit on it tonight.
