July 07, 1947 - July 16, 2006


RON CUTTING FAIRFAX — Ron Cutting, 59, passed away after a courageous bout with cancer Sunday, July 16, 2006, in Fletcher Allen Health Care with his loving wife, Sandra, and family by his side. Ron was born July 7, 1947, son of the late Waldo and Norma (Woodworth) Cutting in Burlington. He graduated from BFA - Fairfax, Class of 1964. Ron served our country well as a member of the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married the love of his life, the former Sandra Barkyoumb, on Oct. 3, 1970, in St. Luke Church in Fairfax. Ron worked as an electrician for Ideal Electric for many years and then went on to work for IBM, and retired after 29 years of dedicated service. Ron enjoyed hosting barbeques, gardening and looked forward to spending his spare time raising turkeys, beef and pigs. He loved his family, his friends and his grandchildren, who meant the world to him. Ron loved life and lived everyday to its fullest. His motto was always “Carpe Diem...“ Live for today. On June 24, 2006 he was extremely proud to have completed 15 laps during the relay for life in Essex Junction. Ron will be greatly missed by all of those who had the true pleasure to know and love him. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandra Cutting of Fairfax; his son James Cutting and his partner, Brent Hewey, of Burlington; his daughter, Lynn Orton and her husband, Stephen, and their three children, Daeton, Faith and Justis, of Fairfax; his three sisters, Lillian Desso and her husband, Gerry, of Essex and their daughters, special nieces Kim Demebele and Karen MacDonald; Vera Buttles and her husband, John, of Milton, Laura Ovitt and her husband, Mark, of Richford; several nieces, nephews, many cousins and a special friend, Dan Dion. Visiting hours will be held Thursday July 20, in A. W. Rich Funeral Home - Fairfax Chapel, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Services will be Friday, July 21, at 11 a.m. in the Fairfax United Church, with Reverend Elizabeth Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in Fairfax Plains Cemetery. Memorial contributions maybe made in Ron's memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, Mass. 01701.
