We did pretty well here at the primaries with about 548 residents voting. I didn't try to analyze the votes to see what percentage of the votes were for the Democratic Party, but suspect a lot of the people who came to vote, voted on the Democrat ticket as that is where all the choices were.
I got home a little after 8 p.m. and my lights were out by 9:30 p.m. I put a note up on my forum in the morning that I was headed for the Polls, but did not turn on my computer again until this morning.

We had a lot of first time Primary Voters yesterday - I sometimes wonder if "The more they try to simplify it, the more complicated it gets".
Everybody was given three ballots, however they could only vote on one of them and they had to turn back in the two they didn't use.
Back in the old days you had to go in and ask for the party ballot you wanted, but not everybody wants everybody else to know what party they are voting on.
Also, they were supposed to hand the unused ballots to the JP to put in the box, however, a number of people did not want to do that.
Now as to the results, I am still confused, so have not put anything up - I will just wait and see what The Messenger Says this afternoon.
I know that we have two reps right now - Carolyn Branagan & Gary Gilbert - One is a Republican & one is a Democrat.
Can someone tell me if there will be two Republicans (Branagan & Santee) and two Democrats (Gilbert & Schlipf) on the ticket in November?

Clearly, I do not understand the logic of primary voting, since I screwed the process up completely! I believe(d) that the primary is to choose the candidate(s) who will be on the ballot in the regular election, but I don't know exactly since the voting process is so convoluted.
Since Branigan & Gilbert are both up for re-election, it stands to reason that in Nov. one (or both) of them could lose or perhaps one (or both) of them lost the primary(??) and it could be either a republican or democrat ticket or split with one of the lesser known parties???
Is there some logical reason that politics & tax codes need to be so difficult?? :P

Maybe Carolyn & Chris can explain this to me. Glad I am not the only one confused Lisa.

Bob Shea will also appear as an Independent.
Each voter will be able to vote for two candidates.
The top two vote getters will win seats in Montpelier.

Always remember vote early and vote often !!!!
If you don't vote, you can not complain. You are not part of the process.
