This Date in Fairfax History
August 30, 1853

The New Hampton Institute held it's first classes on the Fairfax campus.
The school was a prep school, helping students who wanted to go to college, and it was a theological school, for young men who wanted to join the ministry.

That is an impressive looking edifice. Where was it located?

It was located on Fireman's Pond Road in the vicinity of where Ralph & Claire Lemnah live.
