Skippy- I don't think most jobs at Mylan, IBM, Husky, Homeland Security, and NWMC would be considered "low paying".

Current News & Events / Re: BFA-Fairfax has canceled school for tomorrow, October 30, 2012« on: October 31, 2012, 10:41:26 AM »
It sounded like the reason for pre-cancelling school wasn't directly because of the weather (like snow days), but rather because of the fear of not having electricity.

I vaguely remember the horse race tickets- they were little stamps, right? Were those something that needed to be purchased? Or did you get them free depending on how much you spent?

General Discussion / Re: A Five Pound Bag Of Sugar Is Now Four Pounds« on: October 23, 2012, 08:23:38 AM »
Did you know that sugar actually costs twice as much as it needs to simply because of the import tariffs? These were put in place (in the early 80's I believe) to protect the few tiny US sugar producers (who had very good lobbyists). It's estimated that 90% of the US sugar consumption come from outside the country... And because of the ~100% tax, many companies switched to corn syrup.
... So because of the sugar lobbyists, I got fat. 101

Skippy- what was that distance? I was quoted either $28k or $58k (can't remember) several years ago to go a little over a mile to my house.
