The posed picture was taken by Cathy Thayer who lived on Hunt Street by the old town office. The fire was reported at 8:17 PM on 12/24/2008. Cathy posted this picture alittle after midnight.

I think a town wide program is the way to go. Put the garbage on the curb or at the end of road and it goes away once a week. No having to go to Georgia to meet their hours of operation. No having to hire your own hauler, who may increase your rates in a month or two like some satellite TV provider do to you. Just my thoughts.

Be advised the weather station will be off the air until further notice, due to construction being done at the fire station.

Current News & Events / Re: flag s« on: June 29, 2015, 02:42:28 PM »
The Fairfax Business Association were the original group to purchase the flags. The fire department installed the brackets. Duane Leach has hung the flags and taken them down every year I believe. Thanks Duane for your dedication.

Current News & Events / Power Outages« on: December 13, 2014, 10:07:32 AM »
As near as I can tell Fairfax has approximately 80 customers without power. Please check on your neighbors, especially the elderly. If anyone is in need of a warming place or a shelter it can be arranged. Please contact any select board member or myself. I know being without power is a great inconvenience, but the power companies are trying their best.
Went to St. Albans this morning met about 10 power and tree service trucks from out of state. Be safe, Stephen Bessette, EMC 309-0891 |
