If this note offends anyone , I'm sorry , but it's the most efficient way to greet my friends. After another hospitalization I've decided to enter the local Home Hospice Program .My quality of life is really poor and at age 76 , I think it's time . Thanks to all for their friendship and messages. I have really enjoyed being a part of Fairfax.

Henry It's great to see that this event is still taking place !! As you probably remember , it was originally a project under the direction of Franklin County Uniterd Way but grew too large for that organizationto operate by itself , so around 1990 , the Executive Director , Edna Chagnon , asked the current President of that Charity at that time , Warren Hamm , Retired Rear Admiral , to take over the event , controlling all of it's many phases . His efforts , and those of the members of the team that he put together ( Rotary, American Legion , allof the local churches , most of the schools & their school nurses , local agencies that were set up to assist less fotunate residents , National Guard , and numerous others that I've forgotten ) made this annual event successful and set the groundwork for it's continuing functioning today. I know that with the assistance of individuals like Rev. Elizabeth it will continue to be successful and worthwhile .

Also John Rooney , Jim Brown , Paul Burleson , John Garrett . The WW 11 vets have mostly passed on , but as far as I know , Chuck Bellows ( Bomber Pilot & Joyce McCuin's brother ) is still alive.

Lena I agree with you and would remind Forum Readers that Woodstock High School has been playing football since the 1950's and it's schedule usually includes several Division 1 teams . Well done , BFA , for sure .

I haven't seen or conversed with John for almost 20 years , but I knew him for many years prior to that as one who was an independent Vermonter loyal to his town , and was willing to give extra efforts to the community where he lived in order to better the cause . Being a life-long Democrat , you have to know that he and I differed politically over many issues , but I always respected his fairness and judgement . A good fit for Fairfax , I would think , but for the life of me I don't understand why he is running , except for the fact that probably some folks that he respected asked .

My caloric intake should be at least 2000 / day and so far I am only managing to take in about 700 to 800 , which means that that amount of nutritional intake will never be able to speed a full recovery . So the surgeon is going to insert a feeding tube ( mild, invasive procedure he says much like a colonoscopy, done under sedation ) on October 8th. Hopefully , I'll start to put some significant weight on which is the key to my recovery , he says . Outpatient procedure so home the same day . Thanks for all your messages and cards, Stay safe .

Henry Great photos capturing the feelings of the Community about Don & his family. As you probably know , Don was a junior at BFA when I began teaching at the school , and certainly was extremely popular with his class , 1964 , along with his siblings . His mom , of course was well known as an Elementary Teacher , but she made all of her kids toe the line. Don , Ginette, Joey, Todd and Amy are a great family and all have contributed to Fairfax . Thanks for the posting, because these also gave me a chance to view many, many long time friends . Good luck in your retirement years Don & Ginette.

Larry Just got back into reading the Forum and found that I had missed your birthday . Hope that it was a good one for you & your family . Two things .....you & your family ( including Uncle Cyrus ) have been so important to Fairfax through the years and I know that DJ & Duane will carry the same characteristics through the coming years , led by your many examples . Second , I hope you remember all the good times we had at BFA and how much fun you & Mildred had .......great entertainment for all of us . Do you suppose that Andy the deliveryman is still looking over his shoulder for you two ?
