13 or 14 children? Wow. I'm having trouble imagining where they put them all.
This house has treated us very well, and we're a bit sad to be leaving it. Just came in from watching the sun set over the fields. That view out the back is going to be hard to replicate.

Hi all-
Anyone out there still selling seasoned cord wood? My two regular guys are out, which is not good news.

I have five tickets to the Aug. 23rd Lake Monsters/Staten Island Yankees game that I can no longer use. Game time is 6:05, there are fireworks after, and I think it's the Fairfax Day game. Whoever wants 'em can message me at jessecronin01@gmail.com- no charge, I'd just like to see someone use them. First come, first served.
Thanks, Jesse

Does anyone have any slab wood they're looking to get rid of? I'm looking for clean 3-4 foot pieces, varying thicknesses (nothing over 3"), no nails or metal.
Thanks, Jesse

Well, I can certainly emphasize with that.
I guess my question was more a "what comes next" kind of thing. There's a $700,000 difference between the 2013-1014 budget and the proposed 2014-2015 one. If the town gets together and decides that trimming the budget down is what they want to do, that's going to mean some tough choices to trim even half. I'm assuming that the board will be having another meeting soon to get some public input into the process- I guess I would just encourage everyone to mark the date and time and try to make the meeting.
Best, Jesse

If I remember it right from the board meeting, there was some reshuffling and reorganization of staff- if you check up a couple of pages under the special education section you'll see that department has been reduced by 23%, and is no longer responsible for the teacher's salaries. I think that cost has been moved district wide, which would explain most of the increase in FWSU assessment and the decrease in Special Education. My disclaimer is that I didn't take notes, and I don't know for sure, but looking over the numbers it's what makes sense to me.
Personally, I'm not sure why the budget was defeated- I haven't heard from anyone what the major sticking points were, which would be good to know if the school board is going to readdress the budget. Any ideas on what folks didn't like?

Not recently, though last year someone took out the back window of our car(we live on Fletcher close to the village). Super happy about that in the middle of winter.

Hey everybody- Just a couple of announcements. I'll be offering some classes for Home Study students this coming January and February- classes include Mask Making, Puppeteering, Pave the Way with Clay (tile making), and Storm the Castle (castle sculptures out of clay- lot's of fun!). Specific class information, prices, as well as day and time info can be found on my website here. http://www.hummingwheelpottery.com/classes.htmlAlso, I'll be having a 2 day Holiday sale on the 14th and 15 of December, from 10am to 4pm each day. I'll be opening up a kiln that weekend (always exciting, though possibly only to me), offering cookies, and taking 15% off of everything, because I like Fairfax so much. Information about the sale event can be found on my Facebook page, here. https://www.facebook.com/events/604972882871409/?context=createThanks folks! Jesse
