Rumour was that the owner of the building wouldn't renegotiate the rent. Seems that was a problem with the previous tenants . . . Too bad; loved eating there for breakfast . . . best breakfast around and just a few minutes away.

wild turkeys fly - but they need a lot of distance (runway) to get aloft. if you are ever driving and a turkey takes off you feel like they're major slow motion and you're warp speed! it's actually frightening if they are flying toward you/the road.

I saw my first convertible of 2010 - the top was down - today on I89 northbound near Lamoille bridge. Put a huge smile on my face!

It's getting close to fantasy league time; we need to decide what type of fantasy baseball league we want. NOTE: ESPN doesn't allow Vermont residents to win prizes (of course that only matters if you do REALLY well as compared to others in the NATION).
Free League: Choices: live draft or automated draft (live we pick a time to be there and/or you rank players and the auto pilot fills your roster); automated draft - you rank your players and the computer program (ESPN) fills your roster. In this type of fantasy league only 1 person can "own" a player. Not sure what people know about fantasy leagues do won't go until a lot of detail unless needed. There are customizable fantasy leagues or we go with basic categories that ESPN uses as defaults.
Baseball Challenge - ESPNs baseball fantasy league where you set your team's lineup for that day; if you don't change the lineup it stays that way for the next day. Only players that play will earn points. You can put anyone in your line-up but are limited to a salary limit. Players aren't limited to one owner. This type of fantasy baseball is easy and doesn't require changes being made daily. (this is a free league, too)
thoughts?

pay me now or pay me later . . . we may pay for higher rates but at least Vermont will exist as we know it . . . or what will we have to pass on to our grandchildren?
I wouldn't have a problem if I trusted Entergy . . . what have they done to gain our confidence? how reliable is the plant? see anything that gives you confidence, warm fuzzies, reassurance that the place is safe?
how confident are you in Entergy, the decommission fund, that VT Yankee is safe to operate another 20 years? are you willing to bet your life on it?

little things usually lead to big problems; time to CLOSE VT Yankee before something catastrophic happens. Let's hope there's enough in the decommissioning fund . . .

in the past two weeks RT 128 has become a carnival ride; I have to leave for work at least 10 minutes early ONLY because of the potholes and bumps. Suspensions on cars take a beating on 128. It is HORRIBLE this year - yet about the same as every year . . .
I do like to see the "regulars" vs the "newbies"; those that know when to slow AND even move over to the other lane . . . for those "regulars" you all know what I mean!

so sad this occurred; I believe in God; but I strongly believe in separation of religion and politics. They don't belong together. One doesn't fail without the other.
Two topics that are sensitive on their own . . . religion and politics. Keep them separate.

I belong to several free leagues - ESPN, Yahoo, and CBS; I am fine with any of them.
Yahoo is registering now but is limited to 10-12 teams (participants); ESPN is open to any amount of teams; CBS is also a limited number of participants.
ESPN has not yet posted their 2010 baseball challenge.
