We live near Boston and just paid $80 for a chip for our puppy. I'm not sure if that cost compares to that in VT but if it means getting them home it's definitely worth the money! I did notice it's $6 to change any contact information, or $18 to change ownership.

It's pretty smoky down here in Boston too. I can't imagine what's it like in VT, or even closer to the fires in Quebec!

Current News & Events / Please help Camp Ta-Kum-Ta win a $250,000 grant!
« on: February 16, 2010, 09:14:29 AM »
Yesterday I received the following information from a family member, and was hoping to pass it on to the members of the forum in hope that we can get some votes for this local Vermont Organization.

For more than two decades Camp Ta-Kum-Ta has provided a safe, loving place where children from Vermont and New York who have, or have had cancer can play, swim, share, and heal. In short, Camp T-K-T is where kids go to reclaim a childhood robbed by cancer.

Overview:
Since its founding, Camp Ta-Kum-Ta existed happily on the shores of Malletts Bay, Vermont, where we helped more than 1,400 children with cancer to cast off their cares for one magical week each summer. Change was thrust upon us in 2008, when we learned that the camp facility would no longer be available to us and most importantly, to our campers. We purchased 103 beautiful acres in South Hero, Vermont in November.
Our current needs are:
• Cabins for the children and staff
• A Security Building
• Renovations to the main lodge for the medical treatment area

Pepsi is giving away (2) $250,000 grants to the top two entries in a new campaign called the Pepsi Refresh Project. Currently Camp Ta-Kum-Ta is #8. Please vote for this Vermont Organization and help rebuild Camp Ta-Kum-Ta so children can enjoy this amazing week each summer. It only takes a couple minutes of your time to vote. Final day to cast your vote is February 28th! Winners will be announced March 1st.
