For those of you that don't know, my husband works in the woods. Currently he is in Fairfax, off the F/F Road. All spring and summer, he has been watching a doe & her twin fawns. Yesterday, after watching the fawns, he wondered where the doe was. Today, he found the doe in the woods, DEAD. The fawns were still there hanging around her. The doe was seen after archery season. We're thinking someone may have shot her during this past youth weekend. This is a plea to ALL hunters. If you know you wounded a deer, PLEASE do your best to find it. If you need help, call friends or family. The Fish & Wildlife website has a staewide list of people that have tracking dogs. Rex was going to bury the doe but wasn't sure if he could do it without getting into trouble with the powers that be!
We are a family of hunters but this kind of thing gives us all a bad name--not to mention the food that went to waste.

Yup, I knew the subject would cause a stir. MMathews when I have a minute I will look it up. Not sure where I orginally found it. It was during a time that I was helping organize another parade that I found the info. I'm not in anyway demeaning the parade, it was great! Yes, the books were a VERY nice touch. On a side note, I was in the Enosburgh parade & then watched the end of it, nobody threw candy. Oh, there was a lot of it given out. Stay Tuned

I agree the parade was very nice. We would also love to see the fireworks come back but understand the expense. Would a separate fundraiser work? There was only one part that I was disappointed with and had hoped would change this year. That is in regards to throwing candy from moving vehicles, whether it was a car, truck, tailer, float, etc. If one reads the state guidelines & permitting for a parade-throwing candy (or whatever) is illegal. Many people did hand out the treats while walking along. Please keep this in mind for next years parade. Thanks

The store was a very vibrant part of our community. The price that was being asked for the store was unrealistic. There were other issues that led to it's closure.

The 'guy' that owns Apollo also owns 2 or 3 other restaurants. He lives in Fairfax!

What a wonderful, loving and humorous tribute to Mrs Bessette! Thoughts are with the entire Bessette family.

Hi, I'm not sure how it would work but if the puppy goes 'unclaimed' I would be interested in adopting it.

Oh that's good to hear. A co-worker was asking me about it. Haen't been there since the 'new' owners took over.

The horse might belong to someone on Slattery Rd in Fletcher. There has been one from that area that has been loose quite a number of times. I don't know which house it is but I believe it's the small development out into the meadow.

Shouldn't it be a little embarrassing when something comes from a Supervisory Union with at least one spelling error?
