It's Blueberry Picking Time once again! We (Knobby Hill Farm) are open for business and have plenty of berries ready. This year (2018) we are trying to get to a "regular schedule" of open days/stable hours but as per usual, we have to work around the weather. Updates are available by calling 849-2181 or checking out our farm facebook page @KnobbyHillFarmFairfaxVt We are physically located at 51 Richards Rd (take 128S across from J&L Hardware, then right on McNall Road & follow the signs 1.5 miles to our field)
Open today, Monday 7/16 until 6pm; closed Tuesday 7/17; Open Wednesday & Thursday, 10am to 6pm. Weekend hours: Saturday & Sunday 10am to 4pm We close in the event of rain as it is detrimental to our bushes to be "handled" when the leaves are wet --- plant diseases can easily be transmitted in this manner.

It's blueberry season at Knobby Hill Farm! We are a small, family run pick-your-own farm located at 51 Richards Rd. in Fairfax (849-2181; on Facebook @KnobbyHillFarmFairfaxVt). We have 10 varieties of blueberries available for pick-your-own at $2.50/lb. It's detrimental to the health of the bushes/fruit to pick when wet so we will close in the instance of rain; please be sure to check our Facebook page for updates on rain-closures. Hope to see you there!

Hello everyone! It's been a great season of Blueberry picking over at Knobby Hill Farm. We are in our 5th week and the berries are still plentiful and the picking is still very easy! We've harvested over 1400 lbs of blue beauties so far and it looks like we will be picking for another week or more. If you still need berries, come and see us over on Richards Road, less than 2 miles from J&L Hardware. Visit our Farm page on Facebook @KnobbyHillFarmFairfaxVt for details or call 849-2181 & leave a message.

Such a lovely tale and so beautifully written. It's survival of the fittest though and I'm betting on you!

Well, 6 weeks of picking & nearly 1500 lbs harvested!
I took a walk around the patch this morning and I'm afraid that with less than 30 lbs of berries still out there (most not ripe), I'm going to have to call it a finished but very successful season.
Thank you all so much for your support! It was a record year for us and hopefully we'll have another great season next summer.

We still have one variety that is heavy with ripe berries today but I'm sure it'll be picked clean by the time we close @ 5pm. Many more unripe ones of several varieties so we'll more than likely be closed Sunday - Thursday this coming week to allow those to ripen.
It's been a crazy year ... some berry growers around us didn't have good crops this season but this is a record year for us! I'd really like to take credit as "my skill as a farmer" BUT, Mother Nature IS, ALWAYS WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE in charge! We're feeling very blessed around here.

Tuesday 8/4: 10am - 4pm Thursday 8/6: 10am - 6pm Friday 8/7: 12pm - 6pm
The crop is still very good so picking is pretty easy! We also have a Facebook page: KnobbyHillFarmFairfaxVt

Hi Folks! I forgot to post an update here last week (sorry!). So far 900 lbs of berries have been picked in our little corner of Fairfax! We still have plenty ready & many more to come. I think this year will be a record harvest!
Hours for the upcoming week: Mon. 10am-4pm closed Tues. Wed/Thurs. 9:30am-12:30pm & 4pm-7pm Fri. 10am-6pm The berries are SO FRESH, I had to apologize to a customer today because one of the Patriots mooned her .... honestly, she found one that was shaped like someone's behind!
Hope you can make it out to the blueberry patch, Deb Gardell

We actually got picked out of ripe berries on Sunday and had to close early! This first week of August, we'll be delaying opening until Thursday, 9:30am - 12:30pm & 4pm-7pm to allow for crop ripening. We'll also be open Saturday, 10am - 4pm. Thanks so much for your patronage!
