Lost & Found Animals / LOT AGAIN Cat - Partially Blind and Deaf
« on: June 17, 2016, 08:07:06 AM »
Mimi the cat escaped once more. The last time he made his way from Hunt Street to behind Fairfax Rescue. Anyone on that side of Main Street, please keep your eyes peeled. He will not respond to calling to him, but he is very gentle.
Please call or text me at 310-1363 if you see him. He is largely deaf and has no sense of smell.

Male black and white long hair cat went missing yesterday. He can see a little but has no hearing. He is very friendly. It is likely that he is wandering around toward the end of Hunt St or in the woods between Hunt St and 104. Possibly up toward the school. He cannot hunt or hear a predator. If you see him, please pick him up and send me an email here.
Thank you.

« on: February 22, 2016, 07:25:12 PM »
If anyone is missing a tan male boxer mix with normal length tail, one was just hit on Main St. Not badly injured and making down toward Steeple Market. People tried to catch him, to no avail. About 7:15 p.m.

Please share with your friends that this position is vacant for the term beginning March 2, 2014-Town meeting 2015. Anyone interested should contact the Town Clerk, Deb Woodward.
Thank you for allowing me the honor of serving as moderator over the last few years.

General Discussion / Re: A Question From A New Fairfax Resident
« on: November 12, 2013, 08:34:40 PM »
I have walked McNall road many times at night for a number of years with a headlamp and throughout the seasons. I have heard the coyotes choir many times, but have never seen a soloist.  There are a number of regular walkers on the road and several have dogs walking with them. I have never heard of any problems.

General Discussion / Re: Looking For Slate Chalkboard
« on: November 12, 2013, 08:20:35 PM »
Thank you all. I have looked on ebay and there are some, but most are far away. I keep wondering what happened to the many classroom chalkboards that were replaced by white boards. I would guess that they were tossed. I have located one in Vermont and spoke to the folks today, perhaps it will work out. I looked into the painted boards, not the same thing. Maybe I am a stubborn traditionalist when it comes to this. I think a pool table slate would work as well, maybe I should look for a falling apart pool table?

I am looking for an old slate chalkboard to be used for brainstorming/white boarding. I hate dry erase boards. If anyone has one and would be willing to part with it, let me know. John Schraven
