I've used the Hilltop buyers club for Propane for the last 2 years. Last year's price was $2.07/gal, no prebuy, locked in price. It can be a little tricky to get in touch with the guy that runs it, but once you are setup with whatever propane company gets the club's contract for the year, you're good to go, and you just deal with the company. Last year it was Amerigas, which bought out Liberty, and probably others. I'll be signing up again this year for sure. I'm pretty sure the guy that runs this has a regular job, he just does this on the side. No excuse for poor customer service. His email is pedrokatz@yahoo.com but i've had issues getting a hold of him too. In the end, the savings are worth it.

We live in the area where this happened, and frequently walk with our dog on Woodward Rd. I've often stopped and chatted a little with Mr. Chamberlin as we passed by, he was always really nice, and we admired how often he was out walking. A sad and tragic accident, we were really saddened to hear about this.

Yes, it's still bad, but MUCH better than a few weeks ago. I went South on RT128 on Oct 3rd, and it's a very bumpy dirt road, but do-able in a car. I timed it- took 12 minutes to get thru the construction zone. Three separate areas with one lane only and flaggers. I would still avoid it for the time being.

Thanks, I just checked that out, didn't even know about it even tho I'm a big fan of all things Google as well. I'm hoping Google Plus surpasses Facebook once more people start to hear about it.

They were handing out samples today. Some of the best cookies I've ever had! Chatted with the owner, Laura, for a little while--she and her husband bake the cookies right in St. Albans.

Yup, 15 down and 1 up. On Globalnet, I had their fastest plan (up to 3mbps) and I was SOMETIMES getting incredible speeds. When the Fairpoint tech was hooking up DSL I got 14 down and 10 up for Globalnet (off Mt. Mansfield, and with the larger satellite style dish on my roof,). The problem was it was very inconsistent, and about 3 times per hour it would go out completely for approx 3-5 minutes. That fluctuation was not allowing me to use Netflix streaming or Xbox gaming. Tested Netflix streaming with new DSL and got full HD. The Fairpoint tech also said that each person has a their own direct connection to the transfer station (or whatever it's called) down on Rood Mill Rd. So even if my neighbor gets DSL, it shouldn't slow down. Hopefully, that's the case.
Also, I have a few months left on Globalnet's contract, but it's prorated, so the penalty shouldn't be too much.

Hmm. I was hoping to switch to Fairpoint DSL when we can get it in my area (Woodward Rd area). I have Globalnet now. I think they increased their speed about 3 weeks ago. The problem I have with it is that once in awhile the connection drops out completely. I have not talked to tech support about it yet...since it's intermittent, it's not really a huge problem. I just did a speed test: 3.19 Mbps down / 2.10 Mbps up, which is about average lately.
