The annual FFWLL Little League Plant sale will be held on May 18 from 9am - 2pm at the J&L Little League Baseball Field across from J&L Hardware. Beautiful annual and perennial flowers, veggies, herbs, hanging baskets, and more. The plant quality from our grower/supplier the past few years has been excellent -- get your gardens ready for summer and be the envy of your neighbors! (Unless they get plants from us too, ha ha!)
Bring a John Deere toy for the "Deeres for Dawson" Toys for Tots drive to the plant sale, too. Anyone donating a toy will have their name put into a hat for a prize drawing!
For those who pre-ordered plants, please be sure you pick up your orders before 1:45pm. Please make sure to bring your copy of the pre-order form with you to the pickup. Any items not picked up will be sold.
Please note that the Little League cannot accept credit cards, but we happily accept both cash and checks.
Thank you for supporting youth sports in our community!

To honor the memory of Dawson Mosher and to show support for his family, who are part of our FFWLL Little League family, the FFWLL will be hosting a “Deeres for Dawson” toy drive during our annual plant and flower sale on May 18 at the J&L Little League baseball field next to J&L Hardware. Plant sale hours are 9am – 2pm on May 18. “Deeres for Dawson” donations will be accepted at the Cash Sale tent anytime during those hours. All toy donations will go to Toys for Tots in Dawson’s memory. Anyone who donates a John Deere toy or other toy during this event will have their names put into a drawing for a prize. Kevin Smith Sports gift certificates, Home Depot gift certificate, and more!
For those who are not familiar with it, “Deeres for Dawson” is a tribute to Dawson Mosher through gifting of a John Deere toy to the U.S Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. Dawson loved John Deere – playing with his green tractor toys and watching his Daddy ride his big tractor – and the family wants other children to be able to share in the same excitement as Dawson. It is a simple yet very meaningful tribute to this little boy’s memory.
Let’s be generous and show our community’s continuing support for this wonderful family. We hope to see everyone at the Plant Sale with John Deere toys in hand. If you can’t find a John Deere toy, other toys will be accepted.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me, Ali Volz, either through this forum or at avbball@ymail.com.

Another awful thing about this is (as if tearing up childrens' play spaces isn't bad enough), just last weekend a huge group of FFWLL coaches, families, and player volunteers did a beautiful job preparing these fields for our season and Opening Day which is just a few days away. The fields had never looked better. The Little League will have to pay for these repairs, too, which takes money right out of the pockets of this program. So, so disappointing.

The team I referred to above was comprised of 6th graders Andy, Conner, Autumn, and Jacob and 7th grader Alex. Big thank you to Mrs. Young, as well!

I think there might be several Fairfax awards from this event. My son's middle school team won an award for their I-Robot (complete with disco ball), and he mentioned there were others. You can clearly see several BFA Faifax 6th graders in the news story from WCAX, even though their projects were not specifically featured. They had so much fun! He's already making plans for next year.

Ed, could you please tell me who you are? We were looking for a plumber not long ago and not knowing anyone such as yourself we ended up calling our original building contractor for a recommendation. I would really like to be able to give our business to a fellow Fairfax resident, though. Can you please post your business card information? Thanks! I promise to call during the day.

Northbound 104 just started moving again, southbound still sitting. An ambulance went through a few minutes ago.

I've been sitting in traffic at the 104 S-curve for almost an hour now, and it's a dead standstill. Anybody know where the accident is?

My husband Tom Volz -- U.S.Army in the 80's, U.S Army Special Forces in the early 90's, plus countless other family members both past and present. I think our military are true American heroes.

Congratulations to the Boys X-C team, too! High school and middle school both worked really hard and had great seasons!
