Correct- The sap from Wild parsnip can causing severe, painful blistering. I came in contact with it last year, the blisters lasted about a month- and still have some scars from it!
Kind of reminds me of some of my previous girlfriends....

I am surprised that everyone seems to be caught off guard by the new containers. I am certain these were discussed either at the town meeting or one of the trash meetings and that it was put out at that time that we would be transitioning to these.

Yikes!!! He's obviously zeroing in on the bird feeder. I would take it down so you don't end up with a problem bear and end up getting injured by the bear or experiencing property damage. Even if the bird feeder is empty the residual smell will attract a bear. Once a bear gets in the habit of coming to feeders, being around people, etc... they start to not fear humans and all of these interactions usually end up with the bear being killed for public safety reasons.

Over 1,500 voters turned out yesterday. That is the highest turn out we've seen in a few years. Hopefully this trend will continue.

I missed the meeting so didn't get the entire brief but from what I understand keeping what we have will cost a significant amount more than going to the district as well as free the town up from potential penalties. Can anyone confirm this? If we go to the district I also understand that individuals can arrange for curbside pick up on their own, is this correct? I was also under the impression that groups like condo associations, neighborhoods etc.. could negotiate a group rate. Not certain how I am going to vote on this one....

I also think we need a restuarant in town. I am not certain of all the ins and outs, who actually owns the place, their financial status and what not. I would really like to see a nice restuarant in the building. Given his history I think Sam is going to have a hard time making "the Country Pantry" work. I completely understand that he has "paid his debt to society' but there is a sizable portion of the community who don't want to financially support him based on his past actions. I myself would be reluctant to bring my family there.
If Sam's business plan is the same as his old plan I think he will also struggle as the food service industry has changed since he ran the place, more farm to table initiatives, etc...
I suspect that if he actually gets the doors open, he will stay open for a period of time and then end up closing again. Which is sad for all parties involved and not what the town needs.

MKR, I do not believe that is a possibility because all of the issues about hours are still in play but you should speak with the business manager at the FWSU. The ACA is really the driving force behind all of this. It's a complicated and messy bill to say the least.
My experience with agencies as a Human Resources Manager in the UK has been positive. With a little bit of communication the agencies like Kelly will normally work with you to make certain that you receive the level of service you desire. For example, if you know that a certain person works best with a student requiring one on one, you can request that person by name and as long as the person is available you will receive them as a sub. I also suspect that Kelly has a good pool of licensed educators who are looking for employment and trying to get their foot in the door of local schools, so one other added benefit may be that we could have licensed educators working as subs. I am not a hundred percent certain on this point but it seems logical to me that this would be the case given the high numbers of people who apply for jobs at the school.
I really don't believe anyone is losing or winning with this, I believe it's just a new way to conduct business that protects the school from the potential of large fines that would have drastic impacts on the school and the quality of education that could be provided.
Also if the school decides to utilize this service, Kelly has agreed to take on anyone who is currently subbing for the school which should mean minimal disruption for the kids.
