Operation Happiness

Community Gears up for Operation Happiness

Operation Happiness is an annual community initiative supported by the Franklin-Grand Isle  United Way.  The Operation is run by volunteers and relies heavily on the generosity and support of the community.  With over 300 volunteers, Operation Happiness was able to provide baskets of food to almost 1200 needy families throughout Franklin and Grand Isle Counties in 2009.  In addition, children in these families receive toys through the “Toys for Kids” Marine Red Barrel program as well as through the support of local monetary donations.

As has been stated all over the news – families have been especially hard hit during this recession. Our goal this year is to service as many families as we can. We hope the community will continue to support our endeavors to ensure this program’s success.
