MARGARET C. (CANN) CASSANO


PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Margaret C. (Cann) Cassano, 78, of Port Charlotte, Fla. passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 in Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte surrounded by her family and friends. Margaret was born Aug. 4, 1932 in Jamaica, N.Y. to Harry and Margaret Cann. She was affectionately known by all her friends as Peggy. Peggy was a faithful member of St. James Episcopal Church in Port Charlotte. She touched the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to come in contact with her. She will be missed dearly by all who loved and knew her. She is survived by her son, Richard (Sherry) Cassano of Fairfax; two daughters, Kimberly (John) Cause of Southampton, N.Y. and Bonnie Cassano of Punta Gorda, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Shannon (George Ashley) Gallagher, Shilo (U.S. Army Specialist Dale) Newcomb, Kristina (Jamie Chauvin) Gallagher, Kaitlyn (Andrew Geppner) Cassano, Tyler La Force, Morgan La Force and Adriana Cassano; and four great-grand- children, Jaycee Newcomb, Wyatt Newcomb, Tegan Ashley and Leah Chauvin. Peggy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years, Richard Cassano; her son, Kurt Faller; her grandson, Jason Cause; and Peggy's loving friend and companion of five years, Robert Holzmann. Inurnment will be held at a later date by the family in Vermont. The family respectfully requests donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice Inc., 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, FL 34238. Friends may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to sign the guest book and extend condolences to the family. Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home & Crematory Port Charlotte Chapel.
