ALICE V. GAGNER
(FEBRUARY 20, 1922 - DECEMBER 27, 2010)

St. Albans -  Mrs. Alice V. Gagner, age 88, died Monday, December 27, 2010, in the St. Albans Rehab Center, with her loving family, following an extended illness. She was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, February 20, 1922 daughter of the late Ludger and Aurelie (Gendron) Gendron. Alice was married to Paul-Emile “Chez Paul” Gagner for almost 59 years, until his death April 16, 2002. She was employed at Fonda Container Corp., and worked with her husband at their restaurant and later their general store. She was a life member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter # 321 and the Ladies of St. Anne. Alice enjoyed camping on Georgia Shore, knitting, sewing, quilting and fishing. She is survived by her four children Ronald Gagner of Swanton, Claudette and Gilles Rainville, Lise Gagner-Bovat and Daniel Bovat all of Georgia, Arlene and Gary Thompson of Swanton, 8 grandchildren,12 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Germaine Laroche of St. Albans, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brothers and sisters Yvonne Guilmette, Emile Gendron, Lauza Benjamin, Juiliette Cote and Paul Gendron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 3, 2011, at 11:00 A. M. in Holy Angels Church. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday. Interment will be in the Gagner family lot in St. Louis Cemetery, Highgate Center.
