LAWRENCE WILLIAM TRAYAH

Georgia - Lawrence William Trayah, 85, passed away at his home on Wednesday January 12, 2011. He was born in Milton, VT on March 28, 1925 son of the late Aiken and Cecilia (Pelletier) Trayah. He raised chickens and sold eggs; a trade he passed on to the other family members. Over the years, he enjoyed reading all varieties of western books and shared his story adventures with the children. He also shared his service stories with friends and family from all the areas of the world he had visited with his service buddy O.M. Jackson. He had coached the pony league baseball team “Pierces Bobcats” in Georgia. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched so deeply.

He is survived by: His daughter and loving caregiver Mary E. Trayah of Georgia; His granddaughter Annette and Ron Downes of Berkshire, Vt. Grandson Steven P. Trayah and wife Amanda of Fort Bragg, N.C. Six Great Grandchildren: Anthony Trayah, Kaitlyn Trayah, Joshua Weaver, Alisha Weaver, Brianna Weaver and Erika Weaver.
Several nieces and nephews and his favorite cat “Elenore".

He was also predeceased on March 7, 1995 by his loving wife Dorothy (Adams) Trayah, on April 10, 2000 by his son Steven R. Trayah, his two brothers Reginald J. Trayah Sr., Velmore Trayah and his sister Theresa Dumont.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 14, 2011 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel with the Reverend Sam Newton of the United Church of South Royalton officiating. Full military honors will be accorded this WWII Navy veteran following the service. Burial will be in the spring at the convenience of the family in the family lot in Georgia Plains Cemetery. Donations in Lawrence’s memory can be made to Franklin County Home Health and Hospice, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, VT 05468. Arrangements are by John D. Workman, A. W.
