On Friday I had a meeting with Gov. Shumlin, along with some other members of the Ways and Means Committee. During the  meeting he looked at me eye to eye and said he would not approve of any broad based tax increases this session because he did not believe the money was there for Vermonters to give. I have to trust him at his word, until there is reason not to. There will be no broad based tax increases this session.
