The State Police in St Albans have advised that road conditions are dangerous and to avoid all unnecessary travel. The roads have become snow covered and slippery with extremely low visability.  The State Police strongly encourage motorists to stay home until road conditions improve.

The VT State Police St. Albans are responding to multiple cars off Interstate 89 both north and south bound lanes. The public is encouraged to stay off the roadways and not to drive unless absolutely necessary. Roadways are not only snow covered but blowing snow has led to reduced visibility with speeds on the Interstate being 25 to 30 miles per hour. Expect delays when traveling and slow down due to weather conditions. Additionally, stay alert while driving as emergency responders, Troopers, fire and rescue and ambulance personnel are outside their vehicles assisting stranded motorist. With reduced visiblity, flares, blue lights & red lights are not as effective in advising motorist of the danger that may lie ahead.
