Seven fire departments battled a house fire Tuesday night.
The blaze broke out at a property on Weed Road in Essex. Fire officials say the home was vacant and no one was hurt.
Flames spread to a nearby barn before firefighters got the blaze under control.
Asst. Fire Chief Phil Noyes says when he arrived on the scene much of the backside of the house was ablaze.
"Most of the damage was in the rear of the house and the upstairs area," he said.
He added that it's unclear what caused the fire at this point.
I didn't hear Fairfax Fire toned out and I know they were having a Fire Dept Meeting at the station, so I am not aware that they were one of the seven departments involved in fighting the fire.
