Fairfax Fire responded to a report of the smell of gas on Old Academy Street - They were there only a short time and returned to quarters, so apparently not a problem.

I know several people that live in the 3 story apartment building on Old Academy Street and have asked several times when fire & rescue went there if they knew what was going on.  The building must be quite soundproof, because they usually are not even aware that fire or rescue has been there. Only once do I remember a situation a short while back where one of the residents told me early one morning, some man was running around naked outside and everybody was aware of that.

Apparently lots of the people are early risers there as I think I was told this happened around 5 a.m.  That is one time a day, I would probably miss what is going on.
