Mary J. (Costello) Wood

St. Albans - Mary Jane (Costello) Wood, 71 passed away on Tuesday January 1, 2013 at Fletcher Allen Health Care surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Colchester, VT on November 17, 1941 daughter of the late Irving and Harriet (King) Costello.  On February 1, 1958 she married her high school sweetheart Gary Wood.  She enjoyed spending winters in Florida and loved playing Bingo with her friends.  Mary was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her six children:  Cheryl Robtoy and husband Allen of St Albans; Gary Wood Jr. and his wife Denise of St Albans; Larry Wood and his wife Cindy of WV; Tina Sorrell of Georgia; Ricky Wood and wife Tina of Swanton; Steven Wood of St Albans; her siblings:  James Costello of Milton; Betty Thompson of FL; Cecile White of St. Albans; Beverly Hilton of Burlington; Eighteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews & friends.

Mary was also predeceased by her husband Gary Wood on April 30, 2012 and her brother “Uncle Buck” Costello.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday January 5, 2013 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel, 1176 Main Street, Fairfax, VT.  Funeral services and inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.   The family invites you to share your memories and online condolences by visiting www.awrichfuneralhomes.com.
