RUBY C. (MAXFIELD) COLLINS


WINOOSKI — Ruby C. (Maxfield) Collins, 90, a longtime resident of Winooski, died peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, in Starr Farm Nursing Center in Burlington, following a long illness.

Ruby was born in Fletcher on June 8, 1922, the daughter of Donald and Sarah (Clark) Maxfield. She was married on Nov. 22, 1945, to Arthur T. Collins, who predeceased her in 1969. Ruby was proud of family values and their education. She was dedicated to her family.

Ruby is survived by six daughters, Rosemary Patterson, Kathleen Weeks, Martha Poney and husband, Phillip, Christine Allard and husband, Daniel, Karen Kenyon and husband, Clifford, and Lenora Collins; one son, Patrick Collins; nine grandchildren, Nancy, Allison, Jennifer, Holly, Cindy, Maryann, Christine, Faith, and Rose; and many great-grand¬children, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Myrtle Oliver and husband, Alfred, Joyce Price, and Audrey Bentley; and brothers, Loren Maxfield, and Harvey Maxfield and wife, Theresa.

Visiting hours will be on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the LaVigne Funeral Home in Winooski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Winooski.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Francis Xavier School, 5 St. Peter St., Winooski, VT 05404.
