Fairfax Community Library Job Opening
Part-time Program Planner

The Fairfax Community Library seeks an outgoing and creative candidate for a 12 hour per week, year-round position planning programs for all ages that nourish curiosity, learning and community.   

The successful candidate will work closely with the town librarian, as well as collaborate with other groups in the community.  After school/evening hours (Tuesday and Thursday), and an occasional Saturday are required.  The ability to work with a variety of ages with good cheer is essential. Key proficiencies will include:  excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organization, ability to plan ahead, creative thinking, familiarity with social media, ability to produce fliers, calendars, news releases, and other PR material.  Some experience with office software helpful.  Up to 1/3 of the hours may be done from home if desired and when appropriate.
