Arlene Ryan Lapan
November 22, 1922 - February 27, 2014 East Fairfield - Arlene Ryan Lapan, 91, died peacefully on Thursday February 27, 2014 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. Arlene was born on November 22, 1922 in Fairfield, the daughter of Frank and Clara (Tatro) Draper. She was married to Alfred Ryan who predeceased her in 1986. Arlene and Alfred farmed for many years in Fletcher. She especially looked forward to maple sugaring in the spring. She later married Donald Lapan who also predeceased her in 1997. Arlene worked for many years for the Fonda Container Corp. She loved playing cards, cribbage, bingo and working on puzzles. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Lapan is survived by her children Mike Ryan and his wife Cindy of Milton, Jerry Ryan and Harlene Wright of Fletcher, Fred Ryan and his wife Betty of Fairfield, Dennis Ryan and his wife Tammy of Fletcher and Richard Ryan and his wife Bonnie of Fletcher, several grand children, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Arlene was predeceased by her grandsons Billy and Paul Ryan, sisters Kitty and Myrtle and her brothers Charles, Harvey, Fred, Robert and Frank. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday March 2, 2014 from Noon until 2pm with a Funeral Service following at 2pm in the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center in Milton. Burial will be in the Sanderson Corners Cemetery in Fairfax in the spring. Arlene's family would like to thank the staff at the Franklin County Rehab.
