I have the VNA cut my toenails and this last time my appointment was at the Messenger Street Senior Center.  Never been there before and was surprised to see Charlie Tinker there who told me he was the president of the group.  Also didn't know that I could become a member if I wanted to.  Dues he said were $12 a year.  I also think I understood him to say that if you are 82 years old, meals are free.  I just love liver & onions and don't mind a little bacon thrown in with it and I am telling you that sure did smell good.  Think I am going to have to look into that one, only problem is I would have to drive out there at a time that I should not be driving due to medications that I take.  I did hear some Fairfax people go out there and if they don't mind a passenger I suppose I could do that.  Also can look into the Senior Bus that allows me 4 rides a month.  We seniors do have an awful lot of benefits, many of which I am just learning about.

I have some liver here that I got from Aaron Rainville and it is in the freezer.  Maryann didn't care for beef or pork liver, so I never did learn to cook that from her and when I was home, mother always cooked it and I was not interested in learning how, but it sure did taste good with the nice brown gravy and potatoes.  Aw yes,  the things we forget to do when out loved ones are still alive and able to help us out.

Henry
I do like liver with onions/bacon as well but only have it now once or twice a year.  My favorite liver is lamb.  Most folks have not had it but I will tell you it is the most tender, tasty of all the livers.  Last fall on the day of "processing" our lambs, Sue and I were treated to "raw" lambs liver.  Gabe Handy is of Lebonese decent and a real delicacy in the Lebanon area is very cold, fresh, raw lambs' liver.  Gabe had approached me last fall about the possibility of trying liver this way and he prepared it for us at our home.  It was delicious!.
