"The answer to life, the universe, and everything"

What: 5 completely flattened mailboxes and posts.
Where: Shephardson Hollow Road, at the end connecting to Fletcher Rd. across from Finch Road (unmarked).
When: As close as we can figure, sometime between 5:00p and 8:30p when the folks up the road called to let us know.

Whoever it was was traveling northbound towards Fletcher Road when they hit. I don't know how fast they were going, but some of the mailboxes were thrown quite a way, and my post was completely ripped from the ground, where it had been imbedded in concrete. They left a piece of their headlight behind, and I imagine have more than a scratch or two to show for it. Hopefully no one involved was hurt.

If anyone has any information, or notices a car with a missing drivers' side chrome parking light, the neighbors and I sure would appreciate a heads up.

Somebody picked me up last Monday night and they came up the Shepardson Hollow Road to get to my house.  A Red Car darted out and almost hit her from one of the cross roads on Shepardson Hollow Road.  I had seen a red car going at a pretty fast clip up by my house shortly before she got here, but couldn't tell you what make it was.

Sounds like a cruise around the high school parking lot looking for a red escort with a missing headlight wouldn't hurt.

I think we're headed in the wrong direction with the Escort. My husband was leaving for work, heading up Shepardson Hollow this morning and one of our neighbors was pulling out of his driveway with a maroon Toyota Tacoma with extensive damage to the front drivers side, including a missing headlight. When my husband was putting up our new mailbox stand yesterday, he found maroon car parts to match. He will be calling the sheriff this morning.

If you want to stop by our house, we can give you the pieces we have as well. Thank you for doing this!

I have heard that a student returning late from a field trip last night at school found two of his car tires slashed. Its terrible that we can't park our cars in what you would hope is a safe place to have something like that happen.

Nice work! Just curious how we go about getting reimbursed for the damage he caused. I assume it would be through his auto insurance, if he even has auto insurance.

All,

If you have questions about restitution, you should call the victim advocate at the State’s Attorney’s office and the number is 524-7920.  They will be able to give you all the info you seek and are more than happy to help.
