She was born on July 4, 1926, the daughter of Aurore and Alfred Hebert, in Danbury, Conn. She was raised primarily in Fairfax, Vt., on a farm with her 10 siblings. During this time, she cultivated a love for the outdoors, which later in life manifested in being part of camper clubs and loving to walk for fitness. After graduating high school, Evie attended nursing school at Fanny Allen Hospital. She enjoyed caring for others, and particularly liked her private duty assignments when she could provide the best personal care. She married Joseph Rocheleau, they had a local cabinet business in Burlington. She devoted much of her time being active with the St. Joseph School and Parish. In 1983, she was predeceased by her husband, Joe, and soon after opened a used bookstore with her daughter, Carol. This business served as a passtime, as well as fuel for her love of books. During this time, she became the President of the Grand Isle Senior Citizens Club. She also became an active member of Cove, advocating for senior rights. Through these activities she met her second husband, Lawrence Davis. During their 24 years of marriage, they were fortunate to enjoy traveling from Alaska to Australia, and everywhere in-between. Evie was a remarkable woman, who was loving, compassionate, brave, smart, independent, loyal and devoted. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to everyone at the Converse Home/ Gardenview Community. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Bruce) of Colchester; siblings, Lucien (Claire), Albert (Betty), Bea (Louis), Laura, Vivian, and Julie (Chuck); four grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
