Georgia – Colleen Ann Paquette, age 74, a lifelong resident of this community passed away Friday evening, April 24, 2015, at the U.V.M. Medical Center with her family and friends at her side.
She was born in Burlington, on September 27, 1940, to Glendon E. and Catherine (Conlin) Palmer. Colleen was the oldest of eight children.
Throughout her life she was very involved in many things. She was a 4-H leader, loved crafts, knitting, crocheting, country music, the Red Sox and NASCAR Racing. She touched many with one of her favorite hobbies, making wedding cakes.
She is survived by her children; Julius “Jay” Paquette and his companion, Tina Guyette, of Georgia, Ann Marie Morris and her husband, Rick, of Swanton and Melissa Domiano and her husband, Michael, of Menisee, California; a son-in-law, Michael Billings and his companion, Jean Carpenter, of St. Albans. Her grandchildren, Amanda Billings of St. Albans, Brittany Adams and her husband, Frank, of Enosburg, Jordan Paquette and his wife, Renee, of Charlotte, Kristian Gaudette and her husband, Terry, of Fletcher, Amber Paquette, Chad Paquette and his wife, Jenny, all of St. Albans, Nathan Thompson and his wife, Hilary, of Leicester, Nicole Thompson of Troy, New York , Cory Oswald and his wife, Miranda, of Goshen Indiana and Megan Oswald of Elkhart, Indiana as well as her great grandchildren, Emily, Connor, Kolton, Kendall, Tatum, Quinn, Javin, Jace, Jacobe, Kennadie, Sophia, Bella and Grady. She loved them all so much.
Colleen is also survived by her siblings, John and Sharon Palmer, of Brooksville, Florida, Gary and Mary Palmer of Georgia, sister-in-law, Leona Palmer of Georgia, Brent Palmer, Cheryl Palmer and Melinda and Victor Picard all of St. Albans and Patricia Ledoux of Fairfax. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, close friends and special friend, Joe Terry.
She was a babysitter for many years for whom many of those children she called hers also.
She was predeceased by her parents, a daughter, Mona Billings on January 12, 2007, great-granddaughter, Addison Rose Paquette, May 21, 2008, and brother, Richard Palmer Sr., on February 27, 2015.
Colleen’s family would like to thank the Georgia Fire and Rescue and the “girls” from Home Health for their care and support for her and her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 30th at 11:00 A.M. at the Ascension Catholic Church, 3157 Ethan Allen Highway, Georgia, with the Reverend Henry P. Furman as celebrant. Interment will be in the family lot in Hope Cemetery.
