Library Assistant Position

The Fairfax Community Library has an opening for a 22-25.5 hours per week Library Assistant position. The work hours are Tuesday 2-8, Thursday 2-8, Friday 9-3 (9-5:30 in the summer), and Saturday 9-1. We are seeking a person with enthusiasm for providing outstanding and friendly service to all ages, knowledge of and comfort with technology and social media, a background in literature or librarianship, good organization skills with attention to detail, and a positive, outgoing disposition. Preference will be given to candidates with a MLS/MLIS, VT Library Certification, a B.A. in a related field, and/or 2 minimum years experience in a library.
