Reginald (Reg) Muir was born on June 13, 1927 in Burlington, Vermont. On May 13, 2016, Reg (88 years old) passed away in Fullerton, California. He was preceded by his parents; Arthur and Peggy Muir, Joyce Longe (mother to their 7 children), their beloved son, Shawn Anthony Muir, 1 brother, Stanley Muir, 3 sisters; Mary Jean Hammond, Joan Gelineau, and Judy Collins, his niece Molly and great grandson, Christopher. He is survived by a sister, Jacinta Two-Feathers, along with his 6 children (4 sons and 2 daughters); Chris and Jeanine Muir and their 3 children, Marianne Chamberlain and her 3 children, Timothy and Fran Muir and their 4 children, Kathleen and Randy Francis and their 2 children, Daniel Muir and Pam Rand and their 2 children, Robin and Mary Muir and their 4 children, 27 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He also leaves his lifelong and dear friend Diane Hausner, special friends Wyatt Nauman and Nancy Cheyne, his special grandson James Chamberlain, special friend Kelly Chamberlain and his lovely kitty Pricilla.

Reg graduated from the Cathedral High school and went on to attend college to earn a BS at St. Michael's College, Pre med UVM and Editorial studies New York University. Reg enlisted in the Navy in 1945 and was initially stationed at the US Naval Hospital in San Diego, California, he went on to serve overseas during wwn where he received 2 medals.

Reg was the founder of the Grinder House in the 1950's, was an instructor at IBM, and at the BFA Fairfax high school. He was the also the founder of the Personal Associates employment agency, where he secured a job for Bernie Sanders with the Burlington Mayor's office (1960s). Reg established Christmas Tree Land Inc. where he sold freshly cut Christmas trees (1960-1970s) that he and his son's traveled deep into the Vermont woods to harvest. Reg went on to become the Chief Executive of Mapletown Inc. Mapleville USA and Masion de Muir Inc. and Sweet Calm Foods.

Reg was a life long learner who spent countless hours expanding his knowledge and researching to assist him with creating and perfecting his Sweet Calm all natural products (including his seasonings and syrups). He authored several books that included; The Vermont Maple Syrup cookbook, The Orange cookbook, Surviving Life's Challenges and Living to 100.

Reg loved and took great pride in all of his children, and grandchildren, and faithfully remembered them in his daily prayers. He deeply respected and loved nature and all of God's creatures. Reg was a gifted musician who loved to entertain playing melodies on the piano and singing melodies. He loved sailing in the ocean, gardening, playing tennis, golfing and cooking. Reg remained very active though out his life practicing a healthy lifestyle that included yoga.

A celebration of Reg's life will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016, where a mass will be held at the Holy Family Church (Lincoln Street, Essex Junction, VT) at 11:00. A meal will be served immediately following at the Holy Family Parish hall (also located on Lincoln street). Burial services will be held at a later date. Contributions can be made to the American Veteran's Administrationor to the Human Society.
