Katherine Ann Rafferty, 48, formerly of Isle La Motte, passed away peacefully at her home in Fletcher on Thursday, September 8, 2016. She was born on January 26, 1968 in Lake Forest, IL daughter of Michael and Kathleen (Faulks) Rafferty.
Katie had an infectious smile and a contagious laugh. She loved to make everyone laugh. Her hugs were legendary. She had many hobbies such as, swimming, playing pool, and playing with her blocks. She loved all kinds of games, and her art class. Katie was a sweet soul and had an extraordinary spirit.
Katie is survived by her parents, siblings, sister Susan and Bill Athenson and their children, Catherine, Alex, Nicholas and Andrew of Lake Forest, IL; sister Mary Bizzy and her son Jesse Hindsman of Valencia, CA; brother Timothy and Laura Rafferty and their children, Sean, Jack and Maggie of Lindenhurst, IL; sister Jennifer Rafferty and spouse Andrea Parker and their son Daniel of Isle La Motte, VT: Katie's loving caregiver Tiphany Lovejoy, her husband Josh and their 3 boys Josh, Kayden, Brody and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at A W Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel, 1176 Main St., Fairfax, VT 05454. A memorial service will be held in Lake Forest, IL at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Katie’s memory to a charity of your choice.
