Lucy B. Montague, 99, passed away at Copley Hospital, in Morrisville, Vermont on December 14, 2017. She was born July 23, 1918, in Plattsburgh, New York to Martin and Alice Bromley. She graduated from Plattsburgh High School and Plattsburgh Normal School. A teaching position brought her to Fairfax, Vermont, where, on a blind date, she met her future husband, George Montague. She had a passion for oil painting, knitting and crocheting afghans and intricate sweaters for family members. She created beautiful quilts, and each child, grandchild, and great-grandchild received one. Above all, she was a loving and caring mother.
She is survived by her brother, Calvin Bromley, of Plattsburgh, New York, her daughter, Diancy Boyden and husband Frederick, son Michael and wife, Kathy, daughter Melanie Ripley and husband, Bryan, and former daughter-in-law Diane Montague.
