Back on May 20, 1982, my managers & co-workers took a little time off during the work day to honor me (If I use the word loosely) with a get together and what you might call a little good natured humor on the occasion of my 25th Anniversary with IBM. I know you often hear me talk about my job at IBM and how much I enjoyed it and the people I worked with. These pictures, which were sent to me from a former co-worker who is also retired and lives in Florida came as a surprise to me in the mail last week.
What a difference 26 years makes, not only in the photo technology, but in the people themselves. Notice my hair - not even gray. Oh!! yes and there is hair.
One other thing - check out the white shirts - Not difficult to pick out the managers. Here I am shown arriving at the Roast!! Oops, I mean celebration
In the front row is my sister Theresa, my wife Maryann and youngest daughter Mary Kay
I never was one to talk work at home, so as you can see, my family listens intently as they learn new things about me
Theresa, Maryann, Mary Kay, Sharon and Lynn are in the front row and you can tell by the looks on their face they are really impressed
Fortunately I don't mind laughing at myself
Of course no celebration would be complete without a big cake
Then Miss Piggy arrived to extend her congratulations
As you can see, we carried on quite an intelligent conversation
Have a great day - Hope your work is as much fun as mine was - By the way, there were some not so light moments, that were not as much fun, but in the end very enjoyable and gratifying.
