The way this trial is going so far, it will be a wonder if this guy will ever be convicted of the shootings - Now there is no doubt in my mind that this guy did it and he is guilty, so guess I wouldn't make it on that jury - Here is the start of it in case you are interested:

The BFA Class of 1983 raised over $500 for the Alicia Shanks Memorial Scholarship at our class reunion.  If anyone else would like to donate to this scholarship, here is the information:

MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS In memory of Essex Elementary School teacher Alicia Shanks: SCHOLARSHIP: An endowed scholarship fund to assist college juniors and seniors who have demonstrated the capacity to become passionate and dedicated teachers.

The scholarship will be administered by Vermont Student Assistance Corp., and money for the scholarship will be collected by VSAC's charitable affiliate, the Vermont Scholarship Fund. VSAC, a nonprofit, handles scholarships for dozens of Vermont organizations, administering 150 scholarship programs and giving out about $5 million annually through them.

TO CONTRIBUTE: Make checks payable to The Vermont Scholarship Fund and mail to: Mary Welz, The Vermont Scholarship Fund, c/o VSAC, P.O. Box 2000, Winooski, VT 05404.

This may not be very popular, but then again, maybe it will be.   If anyone deserves the death penalty it is this cretin.   ...Period..

This human being is still alive while he left his victim shot dead behind a closed door, in her elementary classroom.  I knew Alicia well and thought the world of her, she was giver to everyone she touched.   She was devoted to teaching and helping --- What was this killer devoted to ?

We all need to follow Mrs. Shanks example and be teachers and role models ourselves.  Men especially need to volunteer their time to be caring, nurturing role models for boys.  Mike, I remember reading your grandfather's obituary and being so impressed by the time he spent volunteering for the community.  I had no idea he had been doing all he'd been doing!  Obviously he was a great role model for you, and other boys in the community!  Love, Suzy
