On May 28, 1955, Shirley Minor, a carpenter from Fairfax and Madeline Lavallee, who lived in Westford were married here in St. Luke's Church in Fairfax by Father Joseph P. Sawyer.  They have three children, Jimmy, Steve and Maria who surprised them with a wonderful 50th Anniversary Celebration at Sam's Charlamont in Morrisville.

Among the guests was Roger Lavallee, Madeline's brother who made a special effort to come home for the weekend from the hospice.

Norman Lavallee, who we haven't seen around these parts for a while was also here.  Norman, for those of you who may not know him is the brother of Fairfax residents Paul Lavallee and Claire Lemnah.

Gabrielle Pouliot, originally from Westford who will be celebrating her 91st birthday is shown with Claire Lemnah above.  I noticed Gabrielle carrying her food, no cane and walking ever so spryly.  Doubt I'll be doing that as I am nearing 91 years.

Margaret Minor and her two daughters Julie and Martha are shown above.  Margaret is married to Shirley's brother Wallace and they live in Fletcher.  Wallace was unable to make it.

Shirley and Madeline are shown cutting their anniversary cake - The knife they are using - Well that is the same knife they used to cut their cake 50 years ago.

Congratulations Shirley & Madeline - And to your children, their spouses and your grandchildren - what a great job you did.
