Something Is Digging In My Lawn

We don't usually see skunks around up here, so don't know if it is skunks or what it might be.  If it was moles, there would be mounds of dirt.  What ever it is, it just digs around and packs the dirt.  In the second photo, there is a hole that goes right down in the ground.
