Its Kleenex Time

Donna & Stacy usually have a box of Kleenex on the counter down at the Town Office this time of year.  Its time to pay the taxes.  Even with my Vermont Rebate, they are still double what they used to be.

It will be very difficult for me to vote for anything that raises taxes this year as I struggle with a bad pre-buy at $4.59 a gallon for 1000 gallons of fuel oil, along with many other increases in day to day living on a flat income.

Yeah, I took the prebuy at $2.89/gallon but I decided we would purchase only 600 gallons this year.  Over the past several years we have used anywhere from 750-850/gallons during Oct-April.  This year with the use of wood and solar heat we are going to use less propane.  My heart goes out to all the folks who paid over $4 per gallon.  All of you should call your company, you may be surprised that they could reduce your fee!  Hey - you never know!  I would try it.  Good Luck!
